Chances are half of them will smile and tell you how some family member needed a pair of crutches or a wheelchair or a breast pump or maybe even a booster car seat for a newborn baby and was given one in a few minutes without filling out endless forms and going through long\, annoying bureaucratic rigmarole to demonstrate their need. \nIn fact\, in most cases\, all they had to do was come into the building on Ichilov Street here in Netanya and pay a small deposit which was returned to them when they brought it back. It also rents out hospital beds\, oxygen concentrators\, cranes for bedridden patients and anything else you may need to keep a family member at home rather than in a hospital or nursing home. A little-known statistic is that 50% of Israeli families have borrowed medical equipment from Yad Sarah at one time or another. \nZvi Swerdlove\, a dedicated\, long-time volunteer\, will be describing the many different services Yad Sarah offers and how it can help you. \nBorn in Boston\, he made aliyah in 1969 and\, after 5 years’ service in the IDF\, he began his professional career working as a translator. For many years\, he also ran a second-hand book store in Netanya called the Reader’s Corner. You may also have seen him perform in the Netanya AACI Drama Group or\, years ago\, in the Netanya AACI Music Theater. \nPlease come and hear Zvi speak!
