After the horrific surprise attack on October 7, 2023, how does our country move from crisis and grow as a nation that can ensure Israel’s security for generations to come? Decisions that Israel makes in the coming year can affect the next hundred years, and hopefully lead to a golden age for the nation of Israel. Brigadier General Res. Amir Avivi will share his insights from his unique vantage point in the IDSF and with 30 years of experience in the IDF.
Brigadier General Res. Amir Avivi is the Founder and Chairman of IDSF – Israel’s Defense and Security Forum (In Hebrew, Habithonistim) which he established in February 2020. IDSF promotes the national security of the State of Israel to ensure its existence and prosperity for generations to come.
Avivi retired from the IDF in 2017 and has more than 30 years of military, counter-terrorism, and national defense experience.
In his most recent role, he served as the Head of the Auditing and Consulting Department of the Israeli Defense Establishment In that position, Avivi managed more than 100 auditors and advisors and was responsible for audit and consulting services in various fields of expertise: Readiness, budgeting, procurement, projects, bids, cyber, logistics, infrastructure, and operations.
Avivi fulfilled various command positions in the Corps of Engineers, leading thousands of soldiers in a dynamic environment combating terrorism. He served as a Brigade commander, Deputy Division commander, and head of the Military School of Engineers. Previously, serving as the Israeli General Chief of Staff’s aide-de-camp, Avivi was at the heart of the policy-making process in the Israeli Government and Defense establishment.
