SUMMARY:NETANYA’S KIDS NEED YOU!
DESCRIPTION:NETANYA’S KIDS NEED YOU!\nOpen Introductory English Tutors Meeting\n11:00 Tuesday 22 September \nEnglish Without Borders is a successful volunteer tutoring programme designed to help local children and youth feel confident in their use of every-day English by engaging them in conversational or basic reading/vocabulary-building activities. In the 2025-2026 academic year\, over a dozen schools received about 36 volunteers. \nWe invite you to join our group of devoted volunteers. Be a part of the fun and help meet the needs of our youth. It is the perfect project for English speakers to give back to Israeli society. \nJoin us at our open introductory meeting if you are a new or returning volunteer. Your basic commitment is two/four hours once/twice a week at an elementary or secondary school talking with 1-4 pupils at a time in coordination with the English teacher at the school. No formal teaching experience is necessary\, but motivation\, caring and patience are required. No Hebrew is necessary. \nFeedback from the 2025-2026 school year: \nWe feel the meetings with our recent volunteers are very effective for the girls. They gain (general) knowledge and maintain and improve their English. The volunteers have a good connection with the girls\, as with me.\nEsther-English coordinator at Ulpanit Bar Ilan girls school\n________________________________________\nBeyond improving their English skills\, the programme has helped enrich their vocabulary\, strengthen their listening comprehension\, and build their confidence in speaking and understanding different accents and teaching styles. The variety each volunteer brings makes the lessons interesting\, enjoyable\, and engaging. The students especially love meeting and connecting with people from different places and backgrounds. They leave each session with huge smiles and a feeling that learning English can actually be fun.
