7.30pm Thursday 16 February
Calling all folk musicians and fans!
Join us for our monthly musical gathering with a mix of local and visiting performers.
We will open the evening with a Tribute to Pete Seeger with Jonathan Margalit and Yael Mann Morag. They will be performing songs that were either written or played by Pete and will weave in stories and information about his life. Their Tribute to Pete Seeger has received much praise and has been enjoyed by audiences all over Israel.
Yael Mann Morag’s love for and involvement in singing goes back to her youth. However, only in the last few years after her decision to quit her job as an architect, has she been able to devote her time and energy to the world of music. Besides being a soloist, she is also a member of the Algaros and Syncopa Choirs in Tivon.
Jonathan Margalit has been involved in the folk scene in Israel on and off for over 30 years. He accompanies his singing with the guitar and banjo and is joined by Yael on vocals.
The second part of the evening will bring back an old friend, Steve Greenberg, with some new material. Steve is a regular on the Israel Anglo music circuit. He is a novelist and professional writer, as well as a full-time single Dad. One guitar, one harmonica, one bald guy: Texas-born and Hoosier-raised, Steve Greenberg will share an eclectic selection of folk, bluegrass, country, rock and an original or two.
