Netanya Folk Club – Hakbatza Gimel and Abelard & Heloise

27/10/2022-7:30 pm

₪25.00 – ₪30.00

Netanya Folk Club

7.30pm Thursday 27 October

FIRST ACT: The band “Hakbatza Gimel” (הקבצה ג) is from Tel Aviv, featuring folk, country and acoustic rock songs by the Beatles, Bob Dylan, John Denver, James Taylor, The Carpenters and others.

Band members are (in alphabetic order) :

Sharon Binenshtock – lead singer

Harold Jacobs – harmonica & banjo

Orna Keinan – keyboard & vocals

Avi Leon – lead guitar

Yossi Yaron – rhythm guitar

The band’s quirky name derives from the fact that most of the members live in Ramat Aviv Gimel and nearby, and “Hakbatza Gimel” (הקבצה ג’) in Israeli schools refers to educationally challenged students who require increased attention and effort to succeed.

The band was started by Yossi Yaron 1.5 years ago, and crystalized a year ago.

This will be its first full debut set (apart from a brief performance at Neve Shalom last September).

SECOND ACT: The group Abelard & Heloise plays original and traditional materials, the members of the group are: Absalom Brylowski on Persian Tar, Nomi Marton on recorder, Klil Horovitch on tabla and Nathan Lachman on guitar.
