Ivan Lewis was MP for Bury South from 1997 to 2019. During this period he spent fourteen years on the frontline of British politics. He served as a Government Minister in the Blair and Brown Governments for 9 years, including a period as UK Minister for the Middle East. This was followed by five years as a Member of the Shadow cabinet. Currently, Ivan is special Advisor to the Africa, Israel Partnership. As a lifelong Manchester City fan, Ivan says that he is “living the dream” after decades of nightmares!
Ivan will talk about the horrors of October 7th, the chilling impact of the world’s reaction, Gaza, current challenges on every border, Iran and the route to a more peaceful and positive future for Israel and the region.
