“Mentastics®” – Mindful Movement Class
Learn to Relax Through Movement
09:30 Monday 11 March (once a month on the 2nd Monday)
This class will meet once a month
This is a participatory class where you will learn the history of the unique mind/body approach called Trager®, before learning how to move your body in a free and easy way, whatever your present state of health.
The Trager Approach is a combination of gentle hands-on bodywork, movement re-education and self-care relaxation exercises called Mentastics (a combination of the words Mental and Gymnastics) which can replace everyday stress with pleasurable sensations. They can help improve your strength, flexibility, coordination and energy, and work for people of all ages and abilities. You may find pain relief from tight muscles, improved mobility of joints and improved posture and coordination. Mentastics can also help induce restful sleep and faster healing from injuries.
Founder Milton Trager, M.D. developed these simple, effortless movements. Integrating Mentastics into your daily life will allow you to enhance and recall feelings of ease, freedom, flexibility, and joy. It can become part of the way you take care of yourself and relieve stress and tension, and staying calm when the going gets tough.
Susan Sacks has been a massage therapist since 1980 and a Trager practitioner since 1983. She studied extensively with Dr. Trager. Susan worked at various hospitals in New Jersey for 15 years prior to making Aliyah. She is currently a member of Trager-Israel.
