In the fast-changing regional landscape, Mordechai Kedar’s perspectives are invaluable in gaining an understanding of what’s really going on. Join us to hear Mordechai address the issues that are most important and timely at the time of his lecture.
Mordechai is an expert in Israeli Arab culture. He served for 25 years in IDF Military Intelligence, where he specialized in Islamic groups, the political discourse of Arab countries, the Arabic press and mass media, and the Syrian domestic arena. Over the years his areas of research have included: Islam, Islamic Movements, gender issues in Islam, Arabic mass media, popular culture in the Arab world, and state and society in the Arab world.
He holds a BS (Arabic and Political Science) and Ph.D. (Arabic) from Bar-Ilan University. He is described as “one of the few Arabic-speaking Israeli pundits seen on Arabic satellite channels defending Israel”. He is an internationally noted academic, columnist and political analyst for Makor Rishon, Yom le-Yom, and Israel’s Channel 14.
