Precisely one year ago, an intrepid group of Netanya AACI members embarked on a journey with a single common shared ambition: to take better pictures. The Netanya AACI Photo Club, led by Therese Berkowitz was formed in March of 2022 and has embraced monthly photo challenges over the course of this last year, submitting their work for group critique every four weeks with open minds and receptive hearts.
While some of the members of the club have broad experience and work with state-of-the-art cameras, most members are new to the art form and use their mobile phones. Some of the photo challenges that the club has explored include: “The Rule of Thirds”, “Black and White”, “Complimentary Color”, “Extreme Close-up”, “Leading Lines”, “Portraits” and “Reflections”.
We have explored basic editing techniques, discussed traditional rules of composition and design principles, while working within the limitations of mobile phone cameras and their editing tools.
In March, the Netanya AACI Photo Club will be sharing some of their work from this first year in a Group Exhibit in the Social Hall. Members of the club who will be exhibiting include:
Philip Baigel, Rochelle Baigel, Philip Bloch, Graham Calvert, Barbara Cardash, Ivor Carr, Avril Gatoff, Jeff Kirsch, Bernard Olsburgh, Sheldon Reich, Susan Sacks, Suzanne Schwartz, Judy Shafarman Sellem, and Steve Silberman.
Please join us for an opening reception at 7:30pm on Tuesday 21 March. Please book below or with the box office.
