Colonel Golan Vach was born in 1974. He lives in the north of Israel on Kibbutz Beit Rimon with his wife and seven children.
Colonel Vach is the commander of the Israeli Defense Forces’ National Rescue Unit.
He has served in the IDF for 25 years as a commander in field troops and in special units. Over the years, he served in all IDF’S combat sectors and is now in the reserves.
Over the last 12 years, Colonel Vach and his team of specialists have worked alongside emergency organizations dealing with natural disasters in Haiti, the Philippines, Nepal, Mexico, Brazil, Albania, Honduras and the United States. Most recently, they went to Florida to aid the search and rescue at the Surfside building collapse site.
In his lecture, Colonel Vach reviews the IDF’s aid operations to disaster areas around the world and sheds light on the values of the State of Israel and the IDF.
Colonel Vach is the proud grandson of a Holocaust survivor.
