Ahoy Shipmates! Come and walk the plank with us as we discover some fascinating information about boats, immigration, the Israeli Navy, marine life, ancient artifacts and… pirates!
We navigate north to Haifa to first visit the Clandestine Immigration and Naval Museum. This museum presents the stories of immigration to Israel during the British Mandate and the development of the Israeli Navy, whose roots are of this period, and its operation since its early days until today.
We will experience a voyage on a Ma’apilim ship, glimpse the lifestyle of soldiers serving in the Navy, and get to know the various vessels and their parts, among which are Ahi Mimot, the Navy’s first missile ship, and the Ahi Gal submarine, which visitors can enter and feel the unique way of life within.
Following on from the naval aspect, we will walk the (very) short distance to the National Maritime Museum where we will eat our packed lunches before getting a glimpse of the beautiful flora and fauna inside the sea. We will see how man’s relationship with the stormy oceans has changed overtime, how cultures and civilisations have left their mark on it, different artifacts which have been found dating back centuries, and the phenomenon of piracy which still exists today.
Join us on what promises to be a swashbuckling adventure!
