Cafe Netanya Presents: Dov Hammer & Assaf Rozov

19:30 Sunday 24 August

Netanya AACI, 28 Shmuel HaNatziv, Netanya

A performance by Dov Hammer (vocals and harmonica) and Assaf Rozov (guitar and vocals),  is a celebration of blues, country, and everything in between — a unique musical experience filled with emotion and joy, spontaneity, and explosive energy from two artists with exceptional chemistry.

Over 30 years ago, Dov Hammer and Assaf Rozov, then young musicians at the start of their careers, met in the band of Canadian blues artist Ted Cooper. Four years of non-stop performances — in festivals and concert halls, pubs, and street corners — served as their music school, learning the fundamentals of blues while performing for live audiences. With no rehearsals or setlist, they learned to rely solely on their ears and emotions.

Dov Hammer led CG & The Hammer band, and later The Blues Rebels, performing in the U.S. and Europe and playing with top American blues artists, including Joe Louis Walker and Lucky Peterson. Assaf Rozov played for many years in New York, including performances at the prestigious Rochester Jazz Festival, and in Israel played with top artists, including Miki Gavrielov and Knesiyat Hasechel
