Guest Speaker: Jeffrey Sher

Jeffrey Sher will recount for us his personal experiences during a trip to Poland and Lithuania, including seeing some of the death camps and visiting some of the major cities and what happened to them. He shares numerous historical facts and data about the Jews and the Holocaust, including many facts about the Holocaust that are not common knowledge. This talk is a PowerPoint presentation which includes many pictures.
Jeffrey grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa and in March 2023, together with Zandra, made Aliyah to Netanya. Jeffrey has been active in a variety of Jewish organisations over the years. He was the past Chairman and Gabbai of the Victory Park Hebrew Congregation in the Northwest of Johannesburg and served the community for nearly 30 years. He was very involved with the Jewish day schools of which he is an Alumnus. Jeffrey served on the PTA for many years and culminated his service on the executive of the South African Board of Jewish Education. Jeffrey’s involvement spanned a period of 26 years. He was also actively involved with B’nai B’rith South Africa for 26 years. Besides his South African involvement, Jeffrey represented South Africa on the International Board of Governors for a term of 10 years.
