Tiyul – Nature and Innovation
Wednesday 9 July
Our Tiyul begins at the Steinhardt Museum of Natural History at Tel Aviv University. It is Israel’s largest natural history museum and showcases the country’s diverse ecosystems, wildlife, and geology.
The museum blends scientific information with engaging storytelling, making the visit both educational and captivating with exhibits feature detailed dioramas of Israel’s varied landscapes, such as deserts and coastal plains, and explain the rich biodiversity found in each. Interactive displays highlight the fragile balance of this ecosystem and stress the importance of conservation efforts to protect endangered species.
After a break for lunch, we will head to the Peres Centre for Peace in Jaffa, founded by the late Israeli President Shimon Peres. While often associated with peace efforts, the centre is also a dynamic incubator for groundbreaking projects in technology, science, and social entrepreneurship highlighting Israel’s role as a “Start-Up Nation.” The centre showcases inspiring initiatives where innovators from diverse backgrounds collaborate on cutting-edge solutions in fields like clean energy, healthcare technology, and water conservation. These projects demonstrate how innovation can drive social change and improve lives across the region and beyond.
This Tiyul promises to be a rich experience that combines the wonders of the natural world with the excitement of technological progress.
