From Baroque to Bloch – A Violin Journey with Moti Shmitt

Come and join us for an unforgettable evening of beautiful music performed and composed by renowned, international violinist Moti Shmitt and accompanied by pianist Natasha Rotenberg.
The programme will include, among others: Handel’s Sonata No 4 for violin and piano, Beethoven’s Romance in F Major, ‘Nigun’ by Bloch, ‘Hebrew Melody’ by Achron and Kreisler’s ‘Liebesleid’. Moti Shmitt will also perform his own composition ‘Jerusalem Spirit’. He will take us on an inspiring journey from Baroque to Romantic, including along the way some of the most beautiful Jewish compositions ever written.
Moti Shmitt started his career as a soloist at the tender age of five in his native Lithuania with the Philharmonic Orchestra. He is a graduate of the performance, conducting and composition faculties at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and a top prize winner in competitions. Moti is considered one of the most versatile and well-known violinists in Israel, Europe and the USA and continues to tour as a soloist and conductor with many leading orchestras. He himself writes chamber music, as well as music for theatre and orchestra.
