EMERGENCY DISTRESS TRANSMITTER
For anyone living alone or who spends time alone at home, it is important to be able to contact someone in a medical emergency. For a number of years, Yad Sarah offered an emergency distress transmitter attached to a land phone line and linked to a button worn either on your wrist or on a necklace. Pressing the button brings an immediate response
from one of the people at the emergency center in Jerusalem, who calls to you from the transmitter.
If you are unable to answer, your contact people (neighbors, relatives, etc.) are called and, if necessary, medical help is sent to you. The button on the necklace is motion sensitive, so that even if you fall and are not conscious, your fall registers at the
center, and someone immediately attempts to contact you.
The emergency center operates 24/7 and 365 days a year (including Shabbat and Jewish holidays).
Now, Yad Sarah is now offering a transmitter that connects to our emergency center using a SIM card, with no need for a land line. So even if you don’t have a home phone or your line isn’t working, you are still connected. In addition, it contains a battery good for up to 12 hours, so that even during a long power cut, it continues to work.
The SIM-card transmitters are available by calling the main Yad Sarah center at *6444. They send the equipment directly to your address within 2 days. You will be asked to pay a deposit for the equipment as well as a monthly service charge. Details are available online or at any branch.
You can also call or visit the Netanya branch of Yad Sarah at 8 Ichilov Street between 9:00 AM and 6:30 PM (9:00-12:00 on Fridays) for more information.
