Communication Through the Arts
Guest Speaker: Judy Spitzberg

Judy will introduce elements of the arts and the rationale for arts in education and in our lives, followed by fun examples of communication in opera (The Telephone), sculpture (Rodin and others) painting (Paul Klee, Picasso, David Hockney) and classical music (Modest Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition) plus examples of typography as communication highlighted by Paula Scher, NY’s famous typographer, exhibits from the Venice Biennale, and a few interactive games on lettering. Videos, recording and visual arts will be used in the PowerPoint presentation for all to enjoy.
Judy Spitzberg is a music and arts lecturer and a director in several American and Israeli elementary schools, universities, orchestras and museums. She is presently teaching English through the Arts at Levinsky College.
