Tiyul: Corridors of Power Jerusalem

Join us for an exciting day in Jerusalem with guided tours of the Knesset, the Supreme Court and the Menachem Begin Heritage Centre.
After an early start from Netanya, we begin our tour at the Knesset, Israel’s House of Representatives. We will hear about the nature of Israeli democracy, the Knesset’s roles and responsibilities, and the works of art displayed throughout the building. The tour visits the Knesset Committees Wing, the Plenary Hall, Chagall Hall and the exhibit of Israel’s Declaration of Independence.
A short stroll will bring us to our next destination, the Supreme Court. Always in our headlines, it is the final Court of Appeals in Israel and interprets laws enacted by the Knesset. It handles about 10,000 cases annually. Our guide will explain the magnificent architecture of the building, and the history and structure of the Israeli legal system and the court.
Our late lunch stop will be at the Cinema City complex, across the road from the Supreme Court. Here you can either buy lunch from one of the many eateries on offer or bring your own.
Our final tour of the day is at the Menachem Begin Heritage Centre which commemorates the life of Israel’s sixth Prime Minister. The museum tells the story of the life of Menachem Begin, from his childhood in Poland, his years as the commander of the Irgun, the Leader of the Opposition in the Knesset, and as Prime Minister of the State of Israel, by means of multimedia exhibits that include historical reconstructions and reenactments, documentary videos, interactive touch screen exhibits, presentations and surround sound narration.
Only Israeli citizens with a Teudat Zehut are able to attend this Tiyul.
