Gaye Turiel: Grieving – A Healing Process
11:00 Tuesday 17 March
Grief is a healthy response to a lousy situation. It doesn’t matter what or who has been lost – it could be the loss of power over substances or another person. The issue is powerlessness over life and death, another person’s feelings or over one’s own behavior. The topic focuses on the 5 stages of grief and how to deal with them.
Gaye Turiel, B Soc Sci (Social Work) NAADAC (CERTIFIED ADDICTIONS COUNSELLOR). Gaye is the MD of a consultancy, specialising in female and male resilience, individual, couple, family and group interventions.
For two years she ran a group at AACI on “Aging Gracefully.”
Gaye’s husband recently passed away. This brought the experience of grieving very much into her present life and she wanted to share this with others who may be going through, or have gone through, this process.
