Massage has a long and varied history. Its development since biblical times, if not before, is a fascinating account of practitioners, innovations and controversies. Detailed mentions in the Mishna, Shulchan Aruch and in the writings of Rashi and the Rambam, combined with the often hidden history of more modern Jewish practitioners and innovators, has led Len to ask: Massage – Is it Jewish?
