With Listening Eyes and an Open Heart
Collecting Testimony from Survivors of the October 7th Attacks
Guest Lecturer: Lorenn Peer
19:30 Tuesday 18 February
In this captivating lecture, Lorenn Peer will share her personal journey as a volunteer with “Edut 710,” a civilian initiative focused on creating a national historical archive of video testimonies from survivors of the October 7th attacks in Israel. She will discuss the profound experience of collecting firsthand accounts, the emotional and ethical challenges, and the resilience witnessed in each story. By preserving these voices, “Edut 710” not only honours the survivors but also provides a crucial, unfiltered record for future generations.
Lorenn has been with “Edut 710” since its early inception in October 2023 and is the testimony coordinator for the Kibbutz Erez and Kfar Aza communities. In her professional life, she is a Yad Vashem Holocaust educator, a Ministry of Education certified guide for educational delegations to Poland, and the founder and director of “Committed to Remember”. She is also a trained vocalist and leader of a band. Lorenn previously served as an adjunct lecturer of Jewish Studies at the City College of New York, and made Aliyah in 2012. She lives in Tel Aviv with her husband, a musician, and their three daughters.
