Join us for a Box Office outing with reduced priced tickets to the Herzliya Performing Arts Center to see a performance of The Sound of Music in Hebrew. For the first time in Israel, there will be a production of the most successful classical musical of all time in its full version.
Maria, a young nun full of joy has difficulty keeping to the rules of the convent. Maria is sent to be a governess to the seven children of Captain von Trump, a widowed and strict army officer. Maria soon transforms their home, from one of strict rules and iron discipline, into one full of joy, laughter and music. She wins the hearts of the children and later their father, and the two decide to marry. The idyll is shattered when Austria is occupied by the Nazis, and the young family is forced to bravely face challenges and dangers on their way to a better life elsewhere.
Come and hear your favourite songs that you know so well in English, be it “Do-Re-Mi”, “Maria”, “Edelweiss” or “My Favourite Things”, in Hebrew.
