Tiyul – Power and Water
Thursday 29 January
On this trip, we will offer a valuable opportunity to explore two of the country’s most important infrastructure sites: the Israel Electricity Company Hadera Power Station located in Hadera and the “Eshkol” Mekorot National Water Company of Israel located in Beit Netofa Valley.
At the Hadera Power Station, we will learn how electricity is produced on a large scale and how advanced technologies help ensure a reliable energy supply. The visit will explain how power stations operate, how fuel is converted into electrical energy, and how environmental challenges are addressed through modern efficiency and safety measures.
We will take a break for lunch on the way to our second stop where you will be able to either buy lunch from one of many Kosher eateries there or bring your own packed lunch.
The visit to the “Eshkol” Mekorot site will focus on water treatment and distribution, one of Israel’s greatest achievements. We will observe how water from natural sources is filtered, purified, tested, and delivered safely to homes, agriculture, and industry. This experience will emphasize the importance of innovation, conservation, and sustainability in managing scarce water resources.
Together, these visits will demonstrate how energy and water systems are closely connected and essential for national growth, environmental responsibility, and quality of life.
